Intro to Cave Course

The Intro to Cave Course - Cave I - provides an introduction to the cave diving environment for sport divers. Divers once finished the class will be able to dive with a buddy on the main line of the cave, with no Ts, jumps or complex navigation allowed. They will be able to use 1/6 of the double/sidemount gear to complete the penetration in the cave system. 

Pre-requsites: students must be qualifed as an IANTD Overhead Environment Diver or equivalent certification from a different association; must show proof of 25 logged dives or sufficient experience to satisfy the instructor; must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a guardian or parent authorization or 18 years of age without guardian approval.   

Certification requirement: a minimum of 90 min of bottom time must be completed in caves within minimum 4 dives. No credits for previous dive time for this program. 8 dives will be needed if you complete the module cavern and intro to cave. Students earning certification will show satisfactory performance in ALL skills. 

The program includes classroom; land drills and confined water skills; cave dives. 
  • Price per day is 230usd per day if 1 student attends the class and 200usd per day if 2 to 4 students are attending the class. Not included in the course price: rental of diving computer; food and drinks; entrance to the cenote (10-12usd per day).
  • If performance requirements are not met, any other day of class has a daily extra cost. Extra day of training is 220usd per person per day.
  • Packages are available for extended diving stays.
  • Gas mixes for tec cave classes are calculated on the daily basis and are not included in the above course prices. Rental of tec gear is available both backmount and sidemount.
  • Students should have mask, fins, booties, hood, wet suit, computer and timing device or gauge, slate, cutting device.
